Core Conflict
By conquering the Uyghur and Tibetan lands and practicing internal colonialism throughout the second half of the twentieth century, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) gained natural resources and trade pathways that aided the rise of China. However, in fueling China’s political and economic power, the CCP marginalized the indigenous Uyghurs and Tibetans by executing the idea of Han Chinese ethnocentrism and laid the foundation for cultural genocide.
